Canon LiDE 300 on Debian Buster

The version of sane in Buster is too old - approximately 1.0.31 of sane is required but something like 1.0.14 is packaged in Buster.
In Bullseye a sufficiently new version is present, so it works fine.
However, for Buster there is a few options:
- Obvious one would be a backport of the version in Bullseye, but it hasn't been created yet (and would likely require a backport of the other packages which use it)
- The official Canon driver called
scangearmp2. I think this works okay, although it isn't too great, still a i386 package, supposedly not supported at all, and from vague memories it only worked with it's own very rudimentary scanning application (which only supported scanning in two very low quality formats) - These versions of the scangearmp2 package: https://github.com/Ordissimo/scangearmp2
